Why We Built This
Billions of dollars are flowing into Chinese humanoid startups, and policy is pushing at every level. Almost none of it gets covered in English.
Tech Buzz China has covered Chinese tech since 2018, through our podcast, newsletter, and research. We think humanoid robots out of China will be one of the biggest tech stories of the decade — so we built the tracker we wished existed.
About Tech Buzz China
Tech Buzz China has covered Chinese tech in English since 2018. Founded by Rui Ma, TBC runs a podcast, newsletter, research reports, and trips to China.
Readers are mostly investors, operators, and policymakers who need to know what's actually happening in Chinese tech — not the headline version.
What We Track
Every company building humanoid robots in China — bipedal, wheeled, upper-body — plus the component suppliers behind them. Funding, products, milestones, and who supplies whom.
Data is sourced from public filings, press releases, industry databases, and our own research network in China.
Methodology
We keep it current by following Chinese-language announcements, filings, patents, and conferences — plus our own contacts in the industry. All funding figures are converted to USD at the exchange rate at the time of announcement.
Follow the research

Who We Work With
China's biggest startup and venture capital database — 100,000+ companies, 50,000+ investment events. Our company profiles and funding data are built on IT Juzi's data.
The Shenzhen robotics industry association. Shenzhen is probably the densest robotics hardware supply chain in the world, and the association connects its companies, suppliers, and government. They organize FAIRPlus, a robotics expo we're attending in April 2026. If you want to work with Shenzhen suppliers, contact them directly.
Visit These Companies
We run trips to China: tour the robotics companies, meet founders, see the robots for yourself.
